The short version: you don't need an account to use the MyStudent.Loans website, we don't collect personal information through the site, and we don't sell or share data with advertisers. The longer version is below.
1. What we collect on the website
You can browse MyStudent.Loans without signing in, creating an account, or providing any personal information. We do not run ad trackers, advertising SDKs, or third-party analytics platforms that identify individual visitors.
2. Standard server logs
Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard server request logs — things like IP address, browser type, requested page, and timestamp — which are used to operate the site, protect against abuse, and troubleshoot problems. These logs are retained for a short period under Vercel's data-handling policies.
3. Performance metrics
We use Vercel Speed Insights to measure how quickly pages load. This tool samples anonymous performance timings (for example, how long the page took to become interactive) and does not identify individual visitors or build behavioral profiles.
4. Cookies
MyStudent.Loans does not use cookies for advertising, tracking, or analytics. The website stores a small piece of data in your browser's local storage to remember your theme preference if you toggle it — that's it. Your browser can be configured to block or clear this at any time without affecting your ability to use the site.
5. Information you send us directly
If you contact us by email, we'll use the information you send (your email address and the content of your message) only to respond to you and handle the request. We don't add you to mailing lists or share your email with third parties.
6. How we share information
We do not sell, rent, or trade visitor information. We may share information in narrow circumstances: with our hosting and infrastructure providers as strictly necessary to operate the site; if required by law or legal process; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of MyStudent.Loans, our users, or the public.
7. Third-party links
The website may link to third-party sites — for example, school net price calculators or the App Store. Those sites operate under their own terms and privacy policies, and we aren't responsible for their practices.
8. If you also use our iOS app
The MyStudent.Loans iOS app handles data differently: your saved loan plans and calculations are stored only on your device, using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not have accounts for the app and cannot access your saved data. The in-app Terms of Use and Privacy Policy cover the app experience in full.
9. Children
MyStudent.Loans is intended for users who are at least 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the website. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we'll make that clear — for example, with a banner on the site — before they take effect.
